Conventional abrasive grains have a low density of large crystals, so breaking through them takes little time. In contrast, the dense microcrystals in the ceramic oxide grain require significantly more time to deplete.
The Science Behind the Purple
Ceramic oxide grain is made of tiny crystals, each smaller than a micrometre. This microcrystalline structure results in an abrasive with unique properties:
SELF-SHARPENING
As you sand, the microcrystals break off to reveal new sharp edges. This process continues until all the crystals have shed, ensuring that the abrasive maintains its cutting efficiency without gradually wearing down like traditional options.
FASTER & LESS TIRING
Thanks to the small size of the crystals, we can fit many more onto each square centimetre of backing, allowing more sharp edges to cut surfaces rapidly. We also use advanced electrostatic technology to precisely position the grains with their sharp points facing outward.
